When life is cruel...

When life is cruel... Grandmas are always there to see you through...

Today one of the most important women in my life had a birthday! :-)

I am so grateful for my grandmother, or Mimi as we grandkids refer to her.  Mimi has three children, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.  This woman has a heart of gold and is an amazing cook!  She gives selflessly and always has just the right gentle words when we need her most.

Over the years I have grown very close to my Mimi, and I am so thankful to have her in my life.  Growing up I have had the privilege of watching and learning from her walk with God.  She will be the first to tell anyone that God has blessed her and that her sole purpose in life is to serve Him.  It is so encouraging to see a woman so in love with Christ!  As long as I am permitted, I will continue watching and learning from this amazing woman God has blessed me with.

Happy Birthday, Mimi!!!
I love you!!!

When life gives you too much homework...

When life gives you too much homework... take a break and go to Walmart :-)

Walmart trips are ALWAYS entertaining!

1. Walmart has everything! Whether its anything from charcoal to grape fruit, adult diapers to coffee filters, or pillow pets to spatulas, Walmart has it.

2. Walmart is like a human zoo! Every department has it's own exhibit.  Linger in the electronics section for any period of time and you will find every species of Creep imaginable.  Next cruise through any grocery aisle or the toy section and observe the mother (dad found an excuse to stay home the moment mom said "load up the mini van") with her litter of thirteen kids jumping around like monkeys.

and my favorite...

3. Walmart has handsome dates for every girl that strolls into the freezer section. Two men for the price of one...

When you are finished with Walmart's plethora of things to see and buy, stop by McDonald's to load up on carbs to get you through the rest of your homework.

The roomie got a happy meal so she could have something to play with on her next homework break. :-)

Now she can make sure she gets to class on time!

When life gives you college...

When life gives you college... you have unforgettable Friday nights...

Here are some weekend activities that require low monetary funds:

1.  Take stupid pictures of yourselves...

This activity is not only entertaining, but also provides for countless blackmail opportunities.

2. Dine at a fine mexican cuisine...

All you can eat chips and salsa, a steak quesadilla, and a side of rice.... all for under seven bucks?
You can't beat cheap and speedy.

3. Wander aimlessly in the woods looking for creepy houses...

And when the security guard asks, "May I ask what you are doing in this area?",
just say... "We are on a scavenger hunt, and we have to find a leaf as big as my head!"
That excuse works every time!

Thanks to the most AMAZING friends for making my college experience a memorable one!

Girls just wanna have fun :-)

I feel so loved...

In response to my roomie's blog post "Top 7 Disappointments of 2010"...

First of all:

  • My height is average.
  • You know exactly where I live.
  • I do not "grab" your feet.
  • I do not "coo".
  • I only "berate" in defense to your constant bullying.
Second of all:
  • You are a giant.
  • You hide little children in your bed.
  • You are violent, and need to enroll in an anger management course.
Here are a few questions for you:
  • Did your parents ever ask you to run away when you were little?
  • Do you still love nature, despite what it did to you?
and...
  • Don't you realize that there are enough people to hate in the world already without your working so hard to give us another?
Just remember... payback is a beast.

Is this really Charleston?

Now this is the way to start the semester! School cancelled on Monday, and delayed on Tuesday.  Although, it definitely would have been nicer to spend my "snow day" at home.... where they actually had snow!  Mom put some pictures up of Jack and the Horses, and I was soooooo jealous.

Even though there is no snow... it is still FREEZING!!!
This weather just doesn't seem right for Charleston, SC.  Before Christmas break I couldn't step outside without breaking a sweat, but now every time I walk across campus I feel like my face is going to fall off!

Hope everyone has had a great start to their new year!  My new years resolution is quite lofty.... but aren't they all?  The 6K Cooper River Bridge Run is going to be quite the challenge!
